HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR GLASSES

Caring for your glasses is crucial in ensuring that they stay in the best condition for the longest possible time. Here are some tips on how to care for your glasses.

CLEAN THEM REGULARLY -

The easiest way for your glasses to become damaged is leaving them vulnerable to dirt and grime, allowing it to build up over time. Cleaning them regularly is a good way to prevent this, this should be done at least twice a week, if not more often.

The best way to clean your glasses is using our alcohol-free lense spray which we can supply with your order, however, should you lose this, don’t fear, there are alternatives.

A good way to properly clean glasses, without cleaning spray, is to rinse your glasses under some lukewarm water and apply a small amount of dishwashing liquid. Rub gently on both lenses, ensure you don’t miss anywhere and then move on to the frame, focussing on the areas around the nose and ears, as these tend to become the dirtiest.

GET A CASE & USE IT -

The best way to protect your glasses is to keep them in their case whenever you’re not using them. This may seem obvious but it is easy to forget and that’s when glasses become lost or damaged. Cases can be particularly important if you’re travelling or if you’re planning on putting your glasses in a bag.

DON’T PLACE THEM ON YOUR HEAD -

Resting your glasses on your head or using them to keep your hair back may seem harmless but it can actually damage the frame of the glasses. The frame can become bent and misshapen around the temple which may mean they no longer fit your head.

Now that your head is off limits, the next choice might be a table which is fine as long as the glasses aren’t placed face down, this can lead to them becoming scratched.

DON’T TAKE THEM OFF WITH ONE HAND -

This is a similar idea to not resting your glasses on your head. Taking off your glasses with one hand leads to one side being stretched which can lead to the frame bending or the hinges loosening, meaning your glasses may become loose or not fit your head.
